Greetings! My name is Diane and I teach Spanish at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, CA. I am a native San Diegan, with family from Mexico. I also work with English Learners and their parents at elementary schools in Oceanside. I am a mother.
I’m a little behind in this course but I’ve started reading and I’m thrilled with learning about how to teach online. I already use several internet tools to teach my “on the ground” classes, but I have so much more to learn! I used to think that a foreign language could not be taught online, because of all the valuable interaction and conversation done in class. With the advent of so much technology I see that, while not the same, it can be simulated fairly well. I see online teaching in my future.
I’m excited to meet other people in this course from mine and other fields, and from different parts of the world (especially Latin America). I will appreciate all your comments and advice.
