Week 3 – POTCERT

Better late than never….

After doing the reading & watching Lisa’s videos , I have a better idea as to how I would like to start to design my online Spanish course.  When thinking about the guiding force, I first considered them to be the SLO’s for my course….  after further watching design elements & examples , I’m convinced that my guiding force must be the textbook with the SLO’s in the background.

Anotherwords…  I would design my course using the weekly central column design , then all of the learning activities would be designed around the SLO’s.  So each lesson would have a SLO as an objective.  This would keep me on track making sure each learning activity maps back to a SLO.  Love this approach!

So theoretically, each weekly button would have listening, speaking, reading & writing activities.  The textbook we use at MiraCosta has a lot of resources, but undoubtedly, I will need to discover more.  Remind me to talk to Pilar & Lilia about this :).

I love that I am thinking about these things so deeply.  It makes me really want to learn more and design my class now!  Patience is not one of my strongest assets.

Thanks for reading!

    Donna,

It looks like you are getting the “feel” of the course. It takes time getting adjusted to the course and the flood of information that you are exposed to. Just take your time and you will see your design unfold as you move through the course.
