Hello, I’m Kaitlin.
Hello, everyone,
My name is Kaitlin. I’m a slightly unorthodox student because I finished my degree a few years ago, and now only I take classes that interest me. It’s a nice feeling. I’m also taking a French history class at another college. I’m looking forward to discussing Jules Verne with you guys.
I took British History last semester, and I really enjoyed it. I like both science fiction and the Victorian period. I recently watched Victorian Slum House on PBS, and it was eye opening to see the lives of the working poor. I think I like science fiction because it shows us both the best and the worst of our humanity.
I’ve bought print versions of all of our books. I like to read during my commute to work. I’m looking forward to working with you all.
Hi Kaitlin,
It is very nice to meet you!
I definitely want to check out Victorian Slum House. I love PBS shows. Have you seen Downton Abbey or Poldark? I have seen both of those. I look forward to discussing Jules Verne with you too. I like what you said about science fiction showing the best and worst of humanity. I often feel like science fiction is such an incredible way for people to ask questions about what it means to be human when the material is presented in an abstract way ( via aliens, creatures, monsters etc). I love reading on trains and buses 🙂 It’s so great that you read during your morning commute.
