This week in Honors: February 5

Hello,

Please reply to this, either on the blog or by email, if you receive this post by email – I tried to subscribe everyone but it may not have worked!

Welcome to this week in Honors History. Thanks to Kaitlin, Gabriela, and Alex for their introductory posts on the blog! Please do reply to each other. SooAh and Angelica are working on technical problems, and I’m trying to help, so I think we’ll all manage at least one post by the end of the week. 🙂

This week you should be reading Frankenstein, and should be well started at this point. We have two weeks for each reading, but they overlap with The Victorians so be sure to plan ahead.

Prompts for posts are on the Syllabus – I may add to these, but you should feel free to use them as jumping-off points rather than set questions. Each of us has an area of interest – Gabriela’s is biology, mine is education. Choosing a topic you can follow through the parent course is something you need to do anyway – if this overlaps with the Honors interest, so much the better!

So I’ve gotten everyone’s schedule, and it looks like A Tuesday or Thursday afternoon might work, and I might want to do an evening one too. At the moment I’m thinking Thursday at noon. Don’t worry if you can’t make it – I would just like to offer a chance for us to see each other and talk a bit. I think in Zoom I can record it too. So I’ll send out an email Wednesday to confirm.

Happy reading and posting!
