The children told two stories this week as a group. Each child in the small group told a line in the story, adding onto one another’s ideas. Their stories are below. They also drew some illustrations to go with the stories. The photos below are just a couple of examples of their drawings. Learning how to tell stories and work together as a group are important skills. Children learn about print as well as the elements of a story. They also listen to one another and build upon the ideas that are presented. Children practice writing skills when drawing the illustration. They convey their ideas with oral language, too!

Dinosaur Gold
Once upon a time, one day a princess wanted a king so they could build it, a robot, and they painted it. And they wanted an animal, so they picked a tiger and it wasn’t mean. A dragon that breathed fire and it was at the castle. A dragon came to the castle, but it wasn’t mean. It was nice. And the dragon had a bag of gold. The princess went into the castle and went outside to see the dinosaurs. And then the princess gave him the gold and he ripped the gold part off and it was chocolate and he ate it.

Hot Wheel Pumpkin Pie
Once upon a time, there were three little pigs and a dragon. They built a brick house. There was a Hot Wheel coming and a monster truck. And it ran over it. The dragon blew fire at the brick house and it fell down. The fire truck sprayed on the brick house that was on fire. They got married and lived happily ever after.
