WEEK 4 – POTCERT Catching up
I have spent the entire day getting caught up with my POT work. What a great adventure. The information provided by the online samples is extremely helpful and exciting. I now want to take half of the courses. I will be using the information learned this week to update my present Blackboard site. I was particularly interested in Sandra Dyke’s website on business computing, as my class is a technical class about medical codes. I will be using a week to week format with work in the textbook, recorded lectures, group projects, group discussion and assistance from the textbook esite. There are also many sites I will link to, now that I know how, for students to see what the medical billing industry is updating.
After reviewing the Yavapai Community College site, I have now signed up for Faculty Focus and the TLT Group. There is no need to try to reinvent the wheel, just spend time researching these great sites and utilizing all that fits for your purposes. What a wealth of info.
I think the two most amazing sites are Khan Academy and Coursera. I think I will have to take a few classes to learn from their techniques.
I also spent a lot of time looking at the free image sites, along with the information on how to link and credit the photographer.

It is easy to see from your post that you are excited about applying what you have gained, thus far, from the course. The fact that you have an ongoing course that you can apply the design strategies to, is even better. Just think, the course has just started. imagine all that you have to look forward to.

Thank you for the comments. It is always a lot of fun to gain new knowledge. I am sure this would all be a lot easier if I had my 26 year old here to tutor me. Alas, he has moved to Texas and I now have to get his help through realtime. I have downloaded a new interactive syllabus from my Blackboard site onto my blog. I will now have the job of updating it to make it more accessible for students. How many great graphics can I get for Medical Billing? Tons of fun.
