WEEK 11 – POTCERT – PRESENTATION

Hello fellow travelers,   I thought I would have  a great time working with Plotagon as a video site.  Plotagon was mentioned in the last POT Newsletter #50, and I thought I would give it a try.  The site was really easy to use and there are just a few options.  You just type out your script and assign the character, add a few options and movements, and then share the movie.  It took quite a long time to download the program onto my laptop.   HOWEVER, when I went to upload the video to Youtube it could not perform that task.  It took over 3 hours though to find this out.  I attempted three more times in case it was my fault, but was never able to upload.  A couple of wasted days.

After this failure,  I attempted to use other animation tools.   I was introduced to Vimeo, Glogster, Goanimate, and animoto.  Well, animoto is no more.  All the other animation tools cost money.  I attempted to use the free Vimeo but my videos were too large.  But I could pay $60 a year for a larger site.  Also while attempting to download some animation tools I instead got some programs that froze my computer.  I spent several hours taking these programs back out of my computer and ended up having to refresh and delete the entire day’s work.

After the disappointment of not being able to share the Plotagon video and the failed attempts at other animation sites, I switched to just recording a video.  I was not able to get to the work again until today, Saturday.  I spent the entire day working on this presentation and am now waiting for the video to load onto Youtube and Google+.  Took much longer than I anticipated.   It is now Sunday night.  This has been very educational and frustrating.  The positive offshoot is that I have learned tons about how my computer works.  So finally, here is my work.  This took the entire weekend to make, remake, remake and then upload.  I am sure learning a lot.  Patience is one lesson I learned this weekend.

My presentation is on CLASS RESOURCES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
